Mid-Congress Tours

The IGC2027 Mid-Congress Tours offer participants the opportunity to explore some of Central Germany’s most innovative grassland research sites, agricultural enterprises, and nature conservation projects. Taking place on Wednesday, June 16, 2027, these full-day excursions are an integral part of the congress program and are included in the general registration fee.
Participants can choose from professionally guided tours that showcase the diversity of grassland science and management across the federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia. Visits will include leading research stations, experimental field sites, universities, research institutes, gene bank facilities, agricultural farms, biodiversity observatories, and practical conservation and landscape management projects.
The tours will highlight current research and practical approaches in areas such as sustainable grassland management, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, species-rich grassland restoration, grazing systems, agricultural innovation, plant genetic resources, and long-term ecological experiments.
A detailed description of each excursion, including itineraries and capacity limits, will be published here in the coming weeks. Registration for the individual tours will open with congress registration.
